Townlet Freiburg

The independent district Freiburg decided in 1971 together with the neighbougring districts Balje, Krummendeich, Oederquart and Wischhafen to form a big community to protect their autonomy. 
The loyalty to be a Freiburger, arisen through several fights against natural disasters, stamps the life of the Freiburg people. The strong roots in the native soil emerges through their mentality as well.

In contrast to the more farming orientated districts Balje, Krummendeich and Oederquart, Freiburg has more commercial character.
Thats the reason that Freiburg is the only village which has a deeply rooted city centre. Teh historical part is worth seeing. 
Freiburg is also the centre of Nordkehdingen community and seat of the district community administration.
